Silly Bandz

Exciting news everyone! Jouets Choo-Choo is THE place to come for Silly Bandz! Although seemingly nothing more than silicone bracelets,  because they come in so many fun shapes and colors, kids everywhere are embracing this craze with open arms!

The bands themselves were originally designed in Japan by Yumiko Hashi and Masanori Haneda in 2002. They were meant to be a cuter, stronger alternative to rubber bands, and thus created in an attempt to conserve office supplies.

When Silly Bandz creator Robert Croak first saw these bands, he knew that, if marketed as an item that could be both worn and collected, these bands could become something fun and fashionable. In November 2008 the Silly Bandz as we know them were born.

Silly Bandz are fun and cute, and kids of all ages are wearing them. From preschoolers to high school kids, everyone has them! And if you stop by Jouets Choo-Choo, a pack of 24 Silly Bandz can be yours for $5.99 CDN (+txs)! Come quick before they run out! Call us at our Pointe-Claire (514-697-7550) or Brossard location (450-445-1552) for details on which models we have in stock!

Playmobil must have heard the same bell, as the brand new Playmobil School Collection is here, right in time for the new school year!

School is fun in Playmobil Land and Playmobil love learning new things with your child as their teacher! In the new Playmobil Furnished School (4324), not only can your child ring the school bell to mark the beginning and end of the day, he or she can even teach their subjects their ABC’s, 123’s and all kinds of other things with its functional black-board! The school comes with nine Playmobil figures, including six children and three adults, chairs, tables, computers, and a variety of other school essentials.

A school just isn’t a school without a School Gym (4325) and Playmobil’s does not disappoint. Filled with a healthy choice of sports equipment, this gym is designed to keep Playmobil figures fit, not to mention encourage your children to engage in healthy activities!

Gym is not the only important class in school. Some kids just love to build, and Playmobil’s Woodshop Class (4326) was designed especially for them! This set comes with tools such as a saw, a hammer, and a wood-cutting machine, among others. They even thought to include a first-aid kit to make sure all boo-boos are properly bandaged!

Another favorite class is music, and the School Band (4329) gives your Playmobil the opportunity to try the tam-tam, xylophone, guitar and maracas!

After Gym, Woodshop and Music classes, just about any Playmobil would be dreaming about getting some lunch, and the School Cafeteria (4327) is perfect for that! This set includes a working vending machine, utensils, food and other accessories to make lunchtime fun for all student Playmobil figures!

Now that the school day is finally over, it’s time to walk or bike home. And thankfully, Playmobil has helped us in that area too! The Crossing Guard with Kids set (4328) comes with a cross guard, a crosswalk, a pedestrians crossing sign, two children and a bike. No doubt an essential to promote safe travel for your children. Don’t forget to look both ways!

The ALL NEW Playmobil Fire Rescue Set is IN!

A new product showed up at our doorstep today: the NEW Playmobil Fire Rescue Set ! This set has by far been the most anticipated set of the year.  The collection includes seven new items: the Fire Station (4819), the Fire Fighter Truck and Ladder (4820), the Fire Engine (4821), the Fire Chief and Car (4822), the Fire Fighting Boat (4823), the Fire Fighting Helicopter (4824), and last but not least, Firefighters with Water Pump (4825).

There are tons of cool features when it comes to this collection. For one, the Fire Fighter Truck and Ladder (4820) and the Fire Engine (4821) are both compatible with the Playmobil Remote Control (4320). Both engines are also equipped with flashing lights! Just add 2 AAA batteries (not included) to see them flicker!

The fun features don’t stop there! Firefighters with Water Pump (4825), Fire Fighting Helicopter (4824) and Fire Fighting Boat (4823) take make-believe play to a whole new level: they really squirt out water! As you might already know, all Playmobil boats float in the water. That being said, don’t be shy to bring your new Fire Fighting Boat into the bath with you! If you attach the Underwater Motor (7350), it will zoom around the bath or pool all on its own!

And what would a Fire Rescue set be without a Fire Station? Fire Station (4819) is full of useful fire fighting equipment, such as shovels, oxygen tanks, axes, fire extinguishers, and the like. To be as true to life as possible, as Playmobil always is, it even comes with a fireman pole that the little figures can actually slide down! Did I mention that the gates are wide enough to allow the new fire trucks to pass through? Now that we have a Fire Station, we need a chief too! And Playmobil does not disappoint with its new Fire Chief and Car (4822)!

With this new Playmobil collection, your child and his or her fire rescue team will quickly become the new heroes of the Playmobil town!
